Our Staff:
Larry K. Forch, Jr., began his career in funeral service in
1992 when he was employed with former owner, Gene Jones, and his
wife, Linda. He is a graduate of Stratton High School and
North Harris Community College in Houston, Texas. He received
his degree in Mortuary Science from Commonwealth Institute of
Funeral Service in Houston in 1994 and served his internship at
Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home and Cemetery in Houston.
After returning to Nebraska, Larry furthered his education at McCook
Community College. He and his family acquired Jones Funeral
Home in Stratton in 1998, and in 1999, they purchased Jones Funeral
Home in Benkelman. In 2003, Larry received his honored
designation as a Certified Funeral Celebrant from the
University of Oklahoma and the In-Site organization, offering
families the utmost in personalized services of both religious and
non-religious origins.
In addition
to his professional career as a licensed funeral director and
embalmer, Larry is active in numerous community organizations.
He is Past-President of the Stratton Community Foundation Advisory
Board; and is Past-President of District #7 of the Nebraska Funeral
Directors Association. He is a member of the Dundy County Chamber of
Commerce and Development, the Stratton Area Chamber of Commerce, the
Nebraska Funeral Directors Association, and the National Funeral Directors Association.
Charlene A. Forch, Larry's mother, is a familiar presence at
visitations and funerals. In addition to helping with
services, Charlene is bookkeeper and receptionist for the
firm. She is a graduate of Indianola High School and currently
resides with her husband, Larry "Fritz" at their home in
Stratton. In addition to her participation in funeral
services, she and her daughter own and operate the Dairy King in
Stratton. She is a member of the Stratton Area Chamber of
Commerce.
Part-time associates include Shannon McAdams, Brett Johnson,
and Robert Stahly, who also assist families during funeral
services and other associated aspects of care.
